Toddle, Waddle & Picnic

The Oxford NCT are proud to announce their first Toddle Waddle and family picnic event on Sunday, 3rd July. Oxford Sling Meet will join this event!

We will be meeting in Christ Church Meadows, in front of the visitor entrance to the college at 11am. Access is from St Aldates (accessible entrance, buggy friendly). The walk (approx. 1h) will take us at a leisurely pace on a circular route around the meadows and along the river for a bit. It is suitable for all families with babies, toddlers and older children and all expectant parents who would like to meet some other families locally.
The walk will happen in any weather (apart from the unlikely case that the meadows are flooded). If the weather is nice, feel free to bring a picnic for afterwards! We will provide cake! The walk is free to all but small donations towards our other branch activities are much appreciated.Everyone is welcome, no need to be an NCT member, so please spread the word among your friends. If you have any questions, please email Jen on coordinator.oxford@nct.org.uk

Kangaroo Sling Meet

We welcome you with your baby, toddler and/or older children to see the delights of the community garden in East Oxford.

Barracks Lane Community Garden is nestled within a residential area, right by the cycle path, a surprising wonder for those who venture to find it.

Oxford Sling Meet are collaborating with Oxford Attachment Parenting Oxford UK – Kangaroo Playgroup
and inviting all sling-wearing parents for a natter on the FIRST WEDNESDAY of the month, from 11am-1pm.

Children of all ages are here spending time in the big sandpit, in the rowing boat, in the willow den and in the hexagonal wooden hut.

£2 per family,
Bring lunch/snacks/drinks if you’ll be peckish!

How to Find It

The Garden is on Barracks Lane and can be accessed via Cumberland Road, off Cowley Road (and not the Holloway end of Barracks Lane). Go to the end of Cumberland Road, turn left onto Barracks Lane. The garden is situated in the corner where the Barracks Lane road meets the Barracks Lane footpath.

There are regular bus services to the Cowley Road from Oxford City Centre and Blackbird Leys, the nearest bus stop is Howard Street.

Visiting Address:
Barracks Lane Community Garden, Barracks Lane (off Cumberland Road), Oxford, OX4 2AP

There are enormous stripey ‘Welcome’ gates at the end of the alleyway of paintings. This gate is always kept closed so that there is a safe enclosed zone for the children. It may look closed from the cycle path but please venture in to discover this beautiful garden.
