Picnic in the Playground

Lets meet at the Hinksey Playground on Abingdon Road.
This playground is really suited to little children and it is fantastically designed and seaside themed. One of Oxfords best play areas.

Parking is available on the side road. Bring coins. This is the same car park as going to Hinksey Pool or Splashpark. See visual info of the playground here.

There are toilets next to the playground and lots of trees for shade on one side.
Bring your bucket and spades as there is lots of sand to sculpt with!!

Look for the orange wizard blanket! This will be Sling Meet HQ.
I’ll be kept on my toes with my lively mobile toddler however feel free to bring a picnic blanket and join the fun!

See you on Tuesday 19th July.

Picnic in the Playground

We are making use of the longest lightest day of the year by meeting up in a playground.
Meet at Bury Knowle Playground in Headington.

Park in the Waitrose car park (bring coins) and the playground is the other side of the boundary wall, accessible from the roads on either side.

Tuesday 21st June – lets hope its sunny!

Playground Sling Gathering

This is a North Oxford special in the amazing Cutteslowe Park!

This park is well worth travelling to.. you’ll be back with family and friends. For any dog owners, there’s a popular mile long grassy track surrounded by trees. Cutteslowe & Sunnymead Park has so many things to offer not just three areas of playgrounds.

There are various children’s play areas, a small aviary, a steam train that you can sit on and go around a little track. The top field can be great for kite flying.

By car – the car park is at the end of Harbord road.

By bike – you can follow the bike path through the back roads of Summertown and over the specially built bike bridge that goes over the ring road.

By bus – take a number 20 or a number 7 towards Kidlington and get off at Harbord Road.

Bring small change for the car park and the ice cream van!

Playground Sling Meet

Summer is here and therefore lets make use of all the light and leafyness that Oxford has to offer!

Our first meeting will be on a THURSDAY and in Florence Parks main playground that is right next to the Children’s Centre. It has a huge sandpit, swings, spinney activities, wobbly bridge, slides, small slopey grass banks, toilets and nappy change facillities and is near to the John Allan Centre, as well as opposite Elder Stubbs organic apples and veg produce for sale.

There’s free parking all along Rymers Lane, Cornwallis Road and all the residential side streets in this area.
Toilets and Nappy Change are in a building next to the sand pit.

Rymers Lane

There’s actually three playground areas – the other two being potentially more suitable for older kids. All are worth checking out plus its a lovely park to walk around with lots of well tended flower beds and different types of trees.

The day and location of Playground Sling Meets will change, however it will always be the fourth week of the month so that those who are back at work can join us on varying days. We know that there are many brilliant playgrounds around Oxford. Please contact us if you know of an amazing playground with activities suitable for toddlers and babies who have head control (eg swings, slides, sandpit or little climbing areas).

We may even do some impromtu Playgournd Meets – we’ll keep you posted!
